Feminine living......thoughts on home

As I have mentioned, my goal to finish my home by the holidays.. (or almost finish it anyway). I figured I would take the advice I give to my own clients when they are feeling frazzled by their projects:  "Let's finish the room(s) that you (or we) have started so you feel as though one space is finished." This gives you both a clear sense direction and accomplishment!

My bedroom is almost finished. It only needs a few finishing touches so I have decided to wrap that up. The room will be the most feminine one in my home, besides my daughter's bedroom.

It is a fairly calming space except for a slightly graphic rug. The colors I've used so far are shades of navy, pale pink, and white. There are feminine details that I am drawn to in all of these bedrooms and I too have used a oatmeal color linen bed and fairly neutral bedding.

Lavender + Lilac

Aren't these flowers gorgeous? {inspiring wedding colors}

I'm drawn to certain colors at different times..who knows why? When I was pregnant it was pink {i guess that's not hard to figure out}. I'm most likely subliminally seduced with fashion and shelter magazines..this month's obsession is with lavender + lilac..{I'm guessing I'm craving cooler colors because of the crazy heat} not necessarily by entire rooms swathed by these colors but small touches!

I discovered this week that my favorite Sister Parish fabric - Burma is now available in lavender! {they've added a number of colors}

{ these walls might be a bit much after a while, but I'm loving the pillow, romans' + headboard}

{an oldie but goodie}

Fabric Love - Kerry Cassill

{find a selection of Kerry's bedding here}

I'm currently smitten with textile designer Kerry Cassill's line of fabric, bedding and clothing. Her influence stems from her travels around the globe, but mainly from Indian Prints she discovered in Parisian Markets.

She launches a new collection each season, I'm looking forward to seeing what's in store for the Fall of 2010. She also has a shop in Laguna Beach named LaLa. Here's a peek at her goods..

{clothing line - I'm really loving the purple Ikat behind her}

Lulu's haven

I blogged about her book last Friday, now here's a peek at Lulu Power's home. Lulu's abode is full of personal, colorful flourishes and bohemian style.

I would love to have this feel on my patio {which we're intending to complete this summer}. A little glamour, a little country, a bit bungalow but most importantly inviting! Her home is surrounded by gardens, I love this concept and have been gardening colorfully myself this summer

Girly Moments..

The "I just had a new baby" fog is finally starting to lift + just in time for the warm weather! Don't get me wrong things are still crazy,{yoga pants and multiple sweatshirt + long sleeve tee changes are still my daily routine} but I've actually starting working here and there. It's so nice to feel a part of society again! {new Mom's will know exactly what I am talking about} I've also started to think about my daughter's room. {my frequent readers already know I haven't had a chance work on Emerson's nursery, but have so many ideas}, stay tuned for updates..I'll leave you with a few sweet, girly moments to start your day!

I have loved this room from the moment it was feaured in Domino. {Ashley Stark's home}

I could have used this service yesterday.
