A charming family home in the Finnish countryside

Hej heeej! I have such a beautiful, charming family home to share with you today. Located in the small town of Jacobstad (or 'Pietarsaari') in Ostrobothnia, Finland, the house dates back to the 1700s and has been painstakingly renovated by owners Victoria Snellman (who runs a webshop selling the cutest knitted garments - how adorable is this romper?!) and her husband, Robin. The pair share the home with their two children Sonny Lou and Juno Mae. Touches of rough wood and sheepskin add warmth to an otherwise neutral, monochrome colour scheme, and a swing hangs from a beam for the children to enjoy year round (when they're not busy playing with the family cat!).

These beautiful photos were taken by Carina Olander and styled by Anna Truelsen for Lantliv.

Oh so charming. I absolutely love everything about this home! How about you?!

Get the look: Kitchen: Tolix armchairs, source similar sheepskin throws here,  AGAM junior chair from IKEA. This industrial pendant is similar. Open area - I love this and this butterfly chair, white sheepskin, this rustic swing is similar. Sitting room - leather pouf. Children's room - Lightly sells leather and wood shelves like these (there's also a great DIY guide here). Give chest-of-drawers a new lease of life with a lick of black paint and leather pulls, like in the children's bedroom.

You can see the full tour of this delightful home in Lantliv 3/2017.

Yesterday I featured a colourful and relaxed Helsinki home, and it's so interesting to see the contrast between the two - both equally charming in their own way, don't you think?

Carina and Anna have such a talent for finding and capturing dreamy country homes - whether high up on a hill over looking the Norwegian fjords, a house in the heart of Småland, Sweden or even Carina's own idyllic summer cottage! Thank you so much for the kind permission to share some of your work!

Have a lovely day!

The beautiful Swedish country home of an interior stylist

We're experiencing 'the calm after the storm' here in Southern Sweden today. The gale force winds have died down and the raging snow storm has silently moved on, paving the way for beautiful sunshine.  I have a feeling this is going to be a great day, don't you?!  Not least because I have a beautiful house to share! Step inside the beautiful Swedish home of writer and interior stylist Anna Truelsen. Anna lives with her husband Michael and children Johanna, Joel, Jonatan and Josua in the Västragötaland countryside. The house dates back to the 1930's and has been painstakingly renovated to transform it into the beautiful family home it is today.

Isn't it lovely? I love the traditional country style with a modern edge as well as the light, muted colour scheme.  And the exterior in all that glistening snow - just *beautiful*!

get the look: dining area - this white bentwood chair is similar, Uulipolli sells a beautiful selection of vintage mirrors, white sheepskin. Sitting room - this Moroccan blanket with pom poms and Beni ourain rugs are similar. Second dining room - Kluster light.

You may recognise Anna's name as I've featured many homes she's styled for shoots including a Swedish country home at Christmas, a cosy home with festive touches and a Gotland home in soothing greys. Anna and her photography partner are now on the look out for homes anywhere in the world to capture over the next few months. If you or anyone you know has a beautiful home which would look wonderful in the pages of a glossy magazine please drop her a mail!

Have a wonderful day!

PS  It was so fun reading all about your post-Christmas decoration traditions from all over the world here on the blog, Instagram and Facebook yesterday! Thank you!

PPS I'm packing for a visit to another snowy country tomorrow - Austria, where I've been invited to visit the beautiful studio of Berndt Gruber in Kitzbühel. So excited! Berndt Gruber is an internationally known carpentry and interior architect company who plan and conceptualize private and public spaces in the most beautiful way. I look forward to telling you more about it when I get back!

Swedish calligrapher Ylva Skarp's cosy winter home

Swedish calligrapher and designer Ylva Skarp knows how to create a beautiful home at Christmas (see it all decked out here). This winter she's created a cosy feel in her country home using sheepskin throws draped over armchairs, ottomans and dining chairs. You can see evidence of her work in various forms throughout the home- on fabric, in prints, engraved in the concrete floor and spontaneously written on blackboards. Such a personal home, don't you think?!
