The Best IKEA Home Decor For a Stylish Home

Give your home a beautiful high-end look with the best IKEA decor and furniture items!

Last week, I traveled about two hours away to pick up a large lot of flower frogs that I won at an online auction.

Whenever I'm far away from home I always check out the area and spend the day exploring.  I usually end up finding new antique shops and thrift stores, but this time, I found an IKEA!

I never pass up a chance to go to IKEA, so after picking up my auction wins and stopping at a few thrift stores I headed to IKEA.

The best IKEA home decor items for a stylish home on a budget

My plan was to grab a couple more sets of my favorite room-darkening white curtains, but I ended up walking out with a cart full.

Some of their new items are just too good to pass up and considering it's been many years since I've done an IKEA decor post, I thought it would be helpful to round up my favorite budget-friendly decor items.

THE BEST IKEA HOME DECOR ITEMS FOR A STYLISH HOME ON A BUDGET!

1. MERETE ROOM DARKENING CURTAINS

IKEA is one of my favorite places to buy curtains!  Not only are they great quality, but they come in 98" lengths, which makes them perfect for hanging high and wide.

I have a set of 100% cotton Merete room darkening curtains in my office, my bedroom, and my vintage booth.

2. FEJKA ARTIFICIAL POTTED MAGNOLIA PLANT

I prefer real plants over faux, but there are a few spots in my home where it's a bit too dark for real plants to thrive.  One of those places is the corner of my bedroom.  It's in the back of the house and barely gets the evening sun.

I knew as soon as I saw the artificial potted Magnolia plant at IKEA that it would be a nice change to the Fiddle Leaf that was currently in my bedroom.  It's larger, brighter, and something a little different.

3. FEJKA KENTIA PALM

The artificial Kentia Palm is another option that I thought was a great buy for the price.  It's full, the palms can be adjusted, and it has a nice realistic look.

4. REAL PLANTS

If you're a real planter lover like I am then definitely check out the plant section next time you visit IKEA.  I find that their plant prices are super reasonable and cheaper than comparable big box retail stores.

5. VARELD BEDSPREAD

I've had the dark gray waffle weave bedspread from IKEA for a few years now.  It's the perfect lightweight addition to spring/summer bedding.

The curtains, gray bedspreadartificial Magnolia, and the small frame on my nightstand are all from IKEA!

6. VATTENKRASSE WATERING CAN

I would have bought this adorable ivory and gold watering can if I didn't already have a brass watering can that I love.  The size and style are the perfect combination of stylish and functional.

7.  MOJNA PENDANT LIGHT

IKEA always has a large selection of stylish and affordable lighting.  I was immediately drawn to the Mojna white pendant light.  It doesn't really fit the style of my home, but it would make a fun addition to a playroom or kids' room.

8.  KAMPIG SWIVEL HOOK

I'm a big fan of mixing metals and the brass color hooks from IKEA are a great way to incorporate a touch of gold into your home.

9.  WOOD CUTTING BOARDS

IKEA has a great selection of affordable cutting boards in a variety of wood species and sizes.

Two of my favorites are the small beech and large oak cutting boards.   The small one is the perfect size to leave out on the counter and grab to cut up an apple or a small portion.

10. Pillow Covers

IKEA is hands down one of the top sources for affordable pillow covers.  They have a nice variety of colors, styles, and textures that are perfect for mixing and matching.

I loved the various shades of green textured tone-on-tone covers so much that I bought them all!

11. HORNMAL THROW BLANKET

This lightweight throw blanket comes in three great colors (green-yellow, light pink, and off-white) and is perfect for adding a touch of texture to any room.

12.  FLINSHULT ARMCHAIR

Dark gray is a color I'm always drawn to and I noticed two fantastic armchairs right away.  They were very different styles, but both were comfortable and could work with a variety of decorating styles.

I love that IKEA is affordable and offers a variety of styles that are easy to mix and match to appeal to everyone.

If you have had the chance to wander through the styled IKEA showroom then you know this is just a small selection of the many fabulous home decor items they offer.

Mood Board: Neutral Mid-Century Modern Living Room

Neutral mid-century modern living room inspiration with pops of pattern and vintage touches!

Five days of rain calls for lots of lazy lounging, true crime watching, and mood board designing.

As I was pulling products for this neutral mid-century modern mood board I quickly realized that I definitely have a style that I am always drawn to.  Hello, moody master bedroom!

Cool moody colors, mixed metals, warm wood tones, and a combination of patterns and textures seem to make an appearance in all the spaces I design.

What can I say?  I know my style and I pick furniture and decor that I love.

Many of the furniture and decor pieces I included in the mood board are out of my typical thrift store/secondhand price range.  One of my favorite aspects of designing spaces and creating mood boards is being able to pick pieces that typically blow my budget.

It's fun and kind of like shopping with someone else's money or loading your online shopping cart then closing the tab and not buying a thing.

The exciting part is then hunting for look-a-like products that are less expensive to get the same look for less.

New Vintage Furniture and Decor Finds

A curated collection of vintage furniture and decor from local and out-of-state auctions!

The Lucketts Store Spring Market is less than a month away!!!

I've been severely neglecting the blog and my home to travel and hunt for vintage inventory for the market.   I've been participating in the vintage market for a few years and it's definitely a market to visit if you live within the DMV area.

Today, I'm sharing a peek at some of my latest vintage hauls for Lucketts as well as new vintage items that are dropping in my online shop,

It's not uncommon for me to be on the road a few days a week either picking up online auction buys or exploring new areas.   Lately, I've been on the road more than usual searching for the perfect vintage furniture and decor to take to the market.

You'll quickly learn that I stick to neutrals and shades of green, which is how I decorate my own home.  I definitely buy what I love and really struggle to sell many of the items I find.

antique and vintage haul

The "Right Turn Keep Moving" metal road sign is one of the items I would love to keep and have been enjoying in my entryway until it's time to pack up.

Just last week, I snagged an antique cash register and then spent an afternoon taking it apart and removing all the register flags and bars.  It's not the most glamorous or enjoyable project but is totally worth the effort.

Along with the vintage cash register, I also snagged the items below.   I think I'm going to keep the antique dress form and add it to the other one I have in my home office.

The rolled-up map is an antique school map from the 1880s.  How cool is that?

Metal garden chairs and patio sets are perfect for spring.  This vintage set of green chairs was too good to pass up despite their need for a little TLC.

I brought them home, gave them a good cleaning with a power washer then repainted them in a fresh coat of green and white paint.  It was a subtle change that gave them the perfect update they needed.

You know I LOVE antique hymn boards so when I found one at an out-of-state auction I HAD to have it.  Thankfully,  it was a great price and I found some cool new places to shop on my way to pick it up.

I debated stripping this antique dresser or leaving it in its original condition.  It was so pretty and perfect as it was that I ended up just giving it a good cleaning then refreshing the wood with Restore-A-Finish.

I recently found a new antique and thrift store that will definitely be added to my regular rotation.   The owner was super nice, the prices were extremely fair and they had a great selection of inventory.

The antique wood abacus, wicker-wrapped bottle, brass duck, amber bottles, and antique cast iron nail caddy were all from the antique/thrift store.

More cameras, brass, wood tones, and an antique dress form.  Can you see the pattern now?

The antique bar cart is too good not to highlight, so here it is in my entry with a big and beautiful $8 auction plant.

The other month I was super lucky and scored a huge collection of cameras at unbelievable prices.  Vintage cameras can go for a lot at auctions, so I was thrilled to buy a large quantity for just a few dollars a camera.

I've been having so much fun traveling, exploring, and picking for the Lucketts Store Spring Market!   I can't wait to pull it all together with my friends Lily and Birch Market and The Past Restored.

Okay, now that I shared what I've been buying over the last month, it's time to share items available in my next vintage drop!

If you're like me and like to decorate your home with vintage decor then check out my shop and all the new inventory that will be available Monday, April 24th at 12:00pm EST.
