A happy and relaxed boho family home

Hello there! I hope you're having a great start to the week?! I thought we could kick off with the delightful, light-filled family home of Chloe Brookman in old federation house in Sydney, Australia. Chloe is co-owner of Olli Ella, an online store selling playful, iconic and beautifully made nursery furniture and textiles (just look at this lovely luggy basket and you'll see what I mean!) - which she runs with her sister in London. Chloe's shares her home with her husband Charlie and their three children: Tennyson, Arlo and Nell as well as their dog Eshu. The space is as charming as you'd imagine - with a fab mix of handmade and unique pieces and a wonderful warm and relaxed feel. Let's take a tour...

I love how there's an element of surprise in every room - a bright yellow cushion here, a pyramid shaped book shelf (made by her husband) there, a trumpet, a rug on the wall.... it makes the space so fun and interesting.

And then there's the mid-century furniture and an abundance of plants.... oh yes!

Is there anything that you love in particular about this home?

As you can imagine many of the items in the home are available at Olli Ella including the bassinet, pillows, rugs and planters. So happy to have found this store (although by the looks of things a little dangerous too - I'd pretty much love everything in it, how about you?!).

You can see more pictures of this lovely home as well as an interview with Chloe over at The Transcontinental Affair. You might recognise the fabulous blog as I once featured the home of Nicole Valentine Don (or 'Little Nicki' as she's also known) here (note the relaxed boho style too... :).

Have a wonderful day!

PS On a completely separate note, I was super excited to see my piece 'Snoozing the Scandinavian way' in Traditional Home magazine US this weekend. Hope you like it!

An arty Gothenburg home in rich tones and bold patterns

Hejsan allihopa! There's been a whole load of white going on here over the past few days so I thought it was time to indulge in something a little different. Think rich, deep tones in grey, green and dusty pink, luxurious textures and bold patterns. Art and photography dominates the walls and a blend of designer, one off vintage finds and reclaimed items set the tone for a beautiful relaxed home in the heart of Gothenburg, Sweden. Enjoy!

Credits: this home was recently sold through Alvhem.

I love the boho, creative style of this space - it oozes warmth.

The dark green velvet curtain used to hide the wardrobe really adds to the beautiful rich textures in the bedroom, as do the pretty vintage kimonos.

We're seeing bold wallpaper more and more in the home (as seen in Johanna Bradford's lovely apartment, the world of Anna Kvarnström and a romantic Swedish home?), are you a fan?

And do you happen to know the name of the wallpaper in this sitting room? If so, wonderful if you can let me know in the comment section below and I can update the post for anyone who's wondering about it!

If you like the idea of wallpaper but prefer a lighter, more whimsical look - I love Blossom (as seen in this home).

And finally, a few items I know and love from this Gothenburg space: sitting roomround mirror, le lampe gras (wall lamp), Butterfly chair (love this!), Gotland grey sheepskin throw. Bedroom - linen valence.

Have a lovely day!

A lovely laid back flat in Malmö, Sweden

Hello! How was your weekend?! We headed out for a walk and barbecue in the forest on Saturday (one of our favourite ways to wile away a day) and then yesterday I had a photo shoot at my friend Gen's flat (you might recognise her name as I've featured her fab office and kitchen before), it was so much fun! More pics to follow later on in the week. Meanwhile, just round the corner is another cosy apartment which has just gone on the market.  There is something so warm about this space, don't you think? Enjoy!

This apartment is for sale through Bolaget.

I love how relaxed and personal this space feels!

It makes me want to string some lights up and paint a few walls (Farrow & Ball sells similar colours)....and as for that Palm Jungle wallpaper?! Love it!

I also love the vintage kimono- not only does it make a perfect robe, it also adds to the decor too!

Is there anything that stands out to you?

Other items I know and love in this southern Sweden apartment: sitting room / dining area Stockholm sofa in Sandbacka green from IKEA, Eames chairs, string lights, source vintage botanical school posters here (this one from Slovakia is particularly lovely!).   Outdoors - Gotland sheepskin.

Have a wonderful start to the week!

PS Amazingly excited to discover today that Vogue has included me in their list of '10 interior instagrams to follow now' list! It's made my week and it's only just started. Thank you Vogue!

A space in New Zealand with a warm, boho summer vibe

Now I'd love to say that I find these dark, grey, cold January days here in Southern Sweden cosy. But sometimes they really can get the better of me and I'm starting to wonder if the sun actually still exists?!! On days like today I find escaping (virtually) to warmer, far off place helps to lift the spirits - how about you? Somewhere like this wonderful space in New Zealand, home to concept store Indie Home Collective. Think woven rattan, rustic wood, and layers of warm, natural materials against a dramatic backdrop of white, black and concrete. Roll on boho summer vibes!

Ah so lovely. I can practically feel the warm breeze through the window, how about you?

Many of the items you see are available at Indie Home Collective (what a beautiful store?!).

I also love the boho-Scandi style seen in this Norwegian home of Vintage Piken. And if you're now in the mood, you can find 28 more beautiful boho home tours from all over the world in this archive. Oh yes! Is this your kind of style?

Have a wonderful day! Oh and fellow Northern 'hemispherers' (is there an official name for people who live in the Northern hemisphere?!) - stay warm!

PS This is not a sponsored post, I just found the pictures truly inspiring and hope you did too!

A vintage inspired Swedish home full of soul

Every now and again I stumble across a beautifully unique, creative, Swedish home that's full of soul.  This is one of them. Tuva Minna Linn, husband Peter and their two children and dog live in a former missionary house in the countryside in Southern Sweden. The house dates back to 1921 and is teeming with vintage treasures and beautiful patterns, and designed throughout so all the family can feel happy and relaxed. So wonderful! A few weeks ago photographer Kristin Lagerqvist (who's home I once featured here), paid a visit.....

Photography: Kristin Lagerqvist Interior design: Tuva Minna Linn

So lovely! And so lovely life!

The wallpapers, the textiles, the quirky art, the one-off pieces. It's all so inspiring, don't you think?

Is there anything that catches your eye?

Get the look from Minna's home: Boucherouite rugs (this one is beautiful - it's a one-off though so you'd need to be quick!) and vintage kilims (love these!), this leather chesterfield is similar, Minna sells vintage kimonos in her online shop. Children's bed canopy and bunting. Try William Morris for similar wallpaper (Hyacinth is a pretty one).

You can see the full tour of Minna's home here. You might also like to check out Minna's lovely blog, instagram and online shop Oddlovin'

Other homes captured by Kristin include the lovely Swedish home of Johanna Bradford, the boho home and studio of an artist and florist and a dairy in the Swedish countryside. Sooooo beautiful, in a fab boho way.

Have a lovely day!

PS With my favourite month of the year just round the corner there are so many exciting things coming up on My Scandinavian Home  (even if I say so myself!) including a big give-away this evening and a tour of my home with Christmas touches tomorrow (I've been busy with my little elves! Always nerve-racking to share too - eeeeek!), as well as lots of other Nordic Christmas inspiration (and of course the usual Scandinavian inspired home tours)....soooooo excited!
