A lovely small Swedish space with pastel touches

Happy Valentine's day! Are you doing anything special today? In our house we do little things - like eat cake and make cards - oh and my man brought me a cup of coffee in bed (but he always does that anyway, because he's lovely (and knows it's the quickest way to get me up!). Even so, I thought I'd celebrate on the blog with a fab apartment in Stockholm with touches of pastel. The space is pretty small (42 metres square / 450 metres square) - even so, they've managed to create two bedrooms, a dining area, kitchen and sitting room, dividing the zones with colour and curtains.  I love that the owners have kitted it out almost entirely in vintage and retro pieces too (love that sofa!). As a result, the space has such a lovely, cool vibe about it, don't you think?

This lovely apartment is for sale through Fantastic Frank

I love how personal this space feels, how about you?

Get the look: dining area - vintage Thonet chairs (love these!), Iittala Napula candle holder, vintage terracotta planters. Sitting room - stonewashed linen by the yard, 'the conversation with a Saguaro' print from Lumitrix is similar (look out for the give-away on Instagram later today!).  Bedroom - stonewashed linen bedding.

You can see more pics and the floor plan of this space here. For more great small space inspiration you might also like to check out this archive (so many clever ideas!).

Right....we're leaving for vacation tomorrow and I still need to do a photo shoot, pack and buy all those last minute bits and bobs like sun screen - go go go

Have a lovely day!

A pared-back Australian beach house with a retro vibe

Spring is in the air...at least in the home tours this week (and outside here in southern sweden, yay!). This pared-back Australian beach house certainly adds to the vibe.  Located in the coastal town of Merrick, Victoria, it's decorated with pretty pops of colour, retro floral prints (my grandparents had curtains just like these in their sitting room, they had fab style), and freshly cut branches from a cherry tree. The owners have completed their holiday home with a mix of vintage, industrial and modern furniture as well as homespun textiles for a relaxed, bohemian feel. An Australian take on the Danish home we saw yesterday? Just lovely! I could wile away a summer here, how about you?!

Anything in particular you love about this holiday home (or everything perhaps?!)?

Items I know and love: Try Etsy for retro floral print curtains, Tivoli radio, Moka coffee maker. Wood wool stool sells crocheted items.

I dream of having an outdoor shower, there's something very cool about them and instantly conjure up days of long summer days at the beach. Here are some of my favourites.

The other thing I noticed are the shelves across the window - what a great idea?!

See more pictures and a full write up of the house here.

Other holiday homes in which I could wile away a boho summer include: this tranquil space in Corsica, a white and wood villa on Mykonos, a Norwegian cabin by the sea, and a Scandinavian style cottage in Oregon.

Roll on summer!

Have a lovely day!

A Swedish home with a relaxed, boho vibe

We often see homes packed with designer pieces, and although beautiful, they're not always achievable.  I therefore love homes designed on a shoestring budget using creativity, patience (to find the right items as they come up) and a sense of fun. The truly personal family home of ceramicist, designer and stylist Frida Anthin Broberg, Sebastien Broberg and their children Jack (6) and Bill (5) situated in Rönne, Sweden is a perfect example of this. Frida and Sebastien believe 'an interior should be fueled by desire rather than aesthetics' and their space pays homage to this. Teeming with vintage finds and bold splashes of colour, this lovely relaxed, boho living space is perfect inspiration for decorating without a big budget, don't you think?

What do you think? Could you live here?

Other fab homes with a similar vibe include Part I and Part II of Johanna Gartmyr's cool home (the castle in the little girl's room is my most pinned image ever!), an eclectic Norwegian home, and this fab home packed with vintage pieces. And for the boho look check out these homes.

PS Etsy is a great source for retro items. My little girls also have the Swedish classic Kånken mini rucksack, shown here on the back of the chairs - so cute!

Have a lovely day!
